Tom Hanks In A Slump?

Tom Hanks has developed a reputation as a fine actor and box office draw. With his five nominations for an Academy Award and his two back-to-back wins for both Philadelphia and then Forrest Gump, the actor could have his pick of movies. His recent works with Stephen Spielberg including Catch Me If You Can and Terminal, along with his recent work with Ron Howard including the Da Vinci Code and its prequel Angels and Demons, have been big money maker at home and abroad
.
However, his recent movie choices have not drawn critical or box office acclaim. He went from awards talk in Road to Perdition to the Coen Brothers bomb, The Ladykillers. He went from the Toy Story movies to oddly animated, The Polar Express. While Charlie Wilson’s War was something of a critical success, it did not light up the box office. Hopefully, the sequel Angels and Demons will bring him back some box office glory.

He is rumored to be working on a second sequel to Toy Story, teaming him with Tim Allen again. He is also rumored to be working on a Western called Boone’s Lick based on a Larry McMurtry novel. It could be that the actor is due for a resurgence after something of a slump.
